Contraction form: « let’s »:

Negativ form: with « Let’s not »:

1st person: LET + US + NOT + Verb without « to »
Let’s not argue! Let’s not tell him the truth.
Let’s not leave him! Let’s not wait too long!

We use the Imperative 1st person when:

– you invite somebody to do something:

Let’s go now! (Let us go now!)

– you give ideas to somebody to do something (or not)

Let’s not worry for this! (Let us not worry for this!).
Let’s not forget to go to the dentist. (Let us not forget to go to the dentist!).
